Logging starting shortly on lower Cumberland trails. This includes restricted access to but not limited to; Shaker, Entrails, Soggy Biscuit, Matt's, and Lower Crafty Butcher for logging and Short & Curly, Black Hole, Space Nugget (for safe distance)

Please note - No Entry and Falling Area signage is for your safety. Please help us keep a good relationship with the local logging companies and respect their safety signs during working hours.

We will keep you updated as any progress and when operations finish.

Logging on Forbidden has mostly completed and cleanup will begin in the spring as much of these trails are now covered in snow.

Snowden Forest, Campbell River

Great new video by Cyclops from Campbell River highlighting the great all mountain and cross country trails which are currently in redevelopment thanks to federal funds

"A quick view of Campbell River's XC/AM mtb trails. Those 'in the know' call these Vancouver Island's hidden gem. Snowden Forest, with about 80K of trails is the largest of several trail systems in the area. As a bonus, pro trials rider Aran iolo Cook puts on a show at the end of the video."

Trail Status

Update for Nov 17th,

The Sykes Bridge was well inundated by water but is fully functional still. The log bridge over Perseverence Creek has been washed away - no shortcut access to Whyte's bay via the old colliery rail line, you will have to head up above the #4 mine cairn on the high side of the road.

LOGGING ACTIVITY - STAY CLEAR

Cumberland Trails - Roadbuilding affecting Soggy Biscuit, Matt's Trail and Black Hole. Be sure to keep out of these areas and watch for logging vehicles on the roadways Monday - Friday from approx 8am - 4pm.

Be sure to keep your eyes open - some cougar sightings have been occurring near the Puntledge River.
